We stayed at La Fuentona for a couple of nights on our way to catch the Santander ferry to the U.K. The property is in a beautiful country location, a short drive from the ferry terminal. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable king size bed and a lovely view of the garden. The bathroom was excellent, and the wifi worked well. The owners were friendly and welcoming, and they allowed small, well-behaved dogs. The surrounding area offers great options for dining and exploring, including the gorgeous town of Santillana del Mar and the Altamira caves.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff, lovely pool and garden, convenient location.
Who needs English tea or a variety of breakfast options? And who wants to eat in the evening anyway?

The rooms were incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean, with modern decor and charming touches. The garden was absolutely stunning, providing a peaceful oasis with beautiful seating areas and a refreshing swimming pool. The secure parking was a great convenience. The location was ideal, not far from the charming Santillana and the fascinating caves. While there was no food available in the evening, the option to have a picnic on the patio was enjoyable, and drinks could be purchased. a fantastic stay with all the necessary amenities and a relaxing atmosphere.

The location was great for exploring the nearby coast and towns. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The bed could have been wider and the room got stuffy without the air conditioning. the language barrier was a slight inconvenience as the staff had limited English skills.

We stayed at a lovely country house and garden called La Fuentona. the property is located in a quiet lane, about a 35-minute journey from the ferry port in Santander. the room was excellent, with a view of the garden and a great shower. We also appreciated the private secure parking, as it allowed us to unload the car easily. Dog owners should be cautious of the chickens in the garden. the staff at La Fuentona were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. Despite the restaurant not being open, they prepared a meal for us when we arrived. The room had a nice big bed and a lovely terrace and gardens. Cons: Nothing, all was good. 😊.

I recently had an amazing mini-break in the beautiful Cantabria region. the country house I stayed in was spotless, with a large king size bed and a garden view. the bathroom was excellent and the wifi worked perfectly. the location was ideal, just a short walk or drive to the charming town of Santillana del Mar. the surrounding area was breathtaking, with plenty of sightseeing options nearby. I also loved the secure parking and the themed suites available, like the stunning Asian suite with a jacuzzi bathtub.
The constant piped background music was a bit annoying.
